- PRIME Minister Absalom Themba Dlamini has issued a warning to
aspiring members of parliament against committing ritual murders to
win the vote. Speaking during the Ascension prayer service held at
Embangweni Royal Residence yesterday, the PM said it was very
disturbing that, already, there were reported incidents of people
disappearing under a cloud of controversy as the elections dates
draw closer.
He said His Majesty issued a similar warning.

- Deadly harvest of body parts
Many albinos - some estimates put the number at over 50 - have been
killed in various parts of Tanzania in recent months for get-rich
rituals.
The problem has reached such proportions that Tanzania's President,
Jakaya Kikwete, used his monthly television address to announce a
crackdown on the traditional healers as well as plans to register
albinos to improve their safety. "These killings are shameful and
distressing to our society," said Mr Kikwete in his Wednesday night
speech to the nation. "I am told that people kill albinos and chop
their body parts, including fingers, believing they can get rich."

- A Nigerian trader of Igbo origin (....) is reportedly killed in
Lome, Togo, by a mob. He was killed in a reprisal against alleged
killing of three Togolese children, by a Nigerian, for rituals, a
statement from
Embassy of Nigeria in Togo has said. The man was reported to have
been killed at Asiyeye market in Lome, the capital of Togo, during a
riot sparked by the killing-for-ritual allegation.

was found abandoned in a bush in Kanyanya, Kawempe division in what the Police
suspect to have been a ritual murder.

Two weeks ago, five-year old Aggrey
Muguluma of Rubaga Division was killed in a suspected ritual by
wealth-seeking criminals.
